Her Love Life - Gaffer
Her Love Life was the second film I gaffed. It was also my second time working with the DP Ben Nelson. While the film is not my kind of film, I feel it turned out beautiful looking. We only had one 15 amp circuit for the entire appartment. We had two suitcase generators of 20amps each. As it got late, the police came and told us we had to be quiet so the generators had to go. The scene was filmed with a 2k running off the 15amp circuit (not really possible as it draws too much power; we would run it for 20 seconds, then turn it off before the breaker tripped) and a 200watt mini powered off my car invertor, plus the headlights from my car. The shoot was a challenge because we did not have the equipment we needed, but that's also what made it fun.
